1 pkg (16 oz) Kool-Aid powder (watermelon, lime, etc.)
1 2/3 c. white sugar
1 1/4 c. butter, softened
2 large eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. flour
1/2 c. white sugar (placed in separate bowl)
Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit (162.7 C).
Mix Kool-Aid with sugar. Add softened butter and mix until nice and fluffy. Add eggs and mix well. Mix in salt and baking soda. Make sure ingredients are totally incorporated. Add flour slowly, mixing after each addition.
Spray cooking sheets or line with parchment paper. Roll dough balls 1 inch in diameter in your hands. Coat cookie ball in sugar and then place on cookie sheet.
Bake at 325 for 10-12 minutes or until they are just starting to turn golden around the edges. Let cookies cool for no more than 1 minute and then remove to finish cooling on a wire rack.
Makes 6 dozen cookies
